Eclogite's Philosophy
The first question I always get asked is "Is your product natural?"...and I say "No". Then people look at the website and find that indeed most of our product is in fact natural. So why do I say 'No"? Because I do not want to perpetuate the illusion that natural products are better or superior in some way to synthetic products. It is simply not true.
Eclogite Skin Care has the philosophy that every single ingredient should be selected and excluded on the basis of whether an ingredient helps our skin or creates further damage at a later stage. Our ingredient selection criteria is NOT BASED ON the "Is it Natural" phenomenom.
Quite simply the Natural is better phenomenon is flawed. Most of the information cited by the companies who use fear as a marketing tactic, is in fact blatantly wrong. If you ever have the experience of finding the original source of these articles, it becomes quite clear. Quite often the information is blatantly misconstrued and othertimes it is actually falsified to make their product appear better, when in fact it may not be.
Safety first for our product users is our first priority when selecting an ingredient. Our criteria for selection is:
- Does it cause sensitivities and allergies?
- Does it cause acne?
- Does it cause pigmentation?
- Does it damage the skin barrier?
- What are the long term ecological and environmental problems associated with using this ingredient?
Only after all of these criteria have been satisfactorily met will an ingredient find its way into an Eclogite product. If one of these criteria are breached the ingredient will be excluded from our range.
