Cosmetic Ingredients Eclogite Uses

The following ingredients are used in Eclogite's Products:

Bellamcanda Chinensis Root Extract - A plant extract originating from Japan.  Has anti-inflammatory and oil reducing properties. 

Betaine - Sugar derived humectant

Borage Seed Oil - Borage Seed oil is high in both Omega 3 and Omega 6.  Contains more Omega 3 than Evening Primrose oil.  Helps calm down the skin and prevents moisture loss from the skin. 

Betaine Salicylate - A natural beta hydroxy acid.  Betaine is a natural moisturising factor which is coupled with a natural form of salicylic acid.  Together they exfoliate inside the pore without the sting and irritation associated with traditional salicylic acid formulations. 

Bilberry Extract - A natural form of Lactic Acid.  Extremely hydrating and skin lightening.  Also acts as an antioxidant.

C10-30 Cholesterol/Lanosterol - Increased moisture content and barrier repair

C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate - An oil replacement.  Does not aggravate acne prone skins and is non-comedogenic.  It has emollient and moisturising properties.

Catnip Extract - Catnip extract has been shown to be 10 times stronger than DEET (Diethyltoluamide).  Has insect repelling properties and is also anti-inflammatory. 

Cetearyl Alcohol &Polysorbate 60 -  A plant based emulsifying wax.  Allows oils and water to mix uniformly.  Non comedogenic.

Cetyl Alcohol - Moisturising Wax

Cyclomethicone & Dimethicone Copolyol - A safe silicone which provides barrier protection and excellent spreading for the moisturiser.  Also acts as a co-emulsifier. 

Dimethicone & Cyclopenasiloxane - Silicone Blend.

Dimethicone and Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer - Silicone Blend.

Dimethicone/Peg-10/15 Dimethicone Crosspolymer - Silicone Emulsifier.

DI PPG-2 Myreth-10 Adipate - A safe water dispersant that provides silky emollience whilst making your product water soluble. 

Echium Oil - High in Omega 3 and Omega 6.  Contains 14% Stearadonic acid which rapidly suppresses inflammation.  Echium Oil contains the highest levels of stearadonic acid in a plant. 

Evening Primrose Oil - Contains high levels of Omega 3.  Also contains Omega 6 which are both anti-inflammatory.  Helps to calm skin down and stops moisture loss from the skin.

Glycerine - Humectant.

Green Tea Extract - Green tea has anti-inflammatory and photoprotective properties.  Green Tea has been shown to minimise burning from the sun.  Green tea also benefit acne clients. 

Hemp Seed Oil  - Contains the perfect proportions of Omega 3 and Omega 6 (1:3).  Also contains !-2% Stearadonic acid.  Hemp seed oil has been shown in clinical studies to be of benefit for eczema.  Hemp seed oil is also anti-inflammatory.

Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride - A natural  thickener based on guar gum.

Hexapeptide 11 - Is a yeast extract known to be elastin precursor peptide.  It improves skin tone and elasticity, and reduces the appearance of fine lines. 

Inositol - Moisturising agent

Iron Oxides - Colour pigments.

Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil - Has insect repelling properties.  Lemon Eucalyptus also has been shown to kill the bacteria Staphlococcus Aureus. 

Lemon Peel Extract -  A natural form of Malic Acid

Licorice Extract - Organic Licorice extract has anti-inflammatory properties.  Licorice acts like a natural anti-histamine to stop itching and redness. 

Mica - Shimmer for makeup.

Melissa Essential Oil - anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial

Matrixyl 3000 - skin regenerating peptide

Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) - Niacinamide is a multi tasker.  It is reduces oil flow and also increases cholesterol synthesis in the skin.  This promotes moisture in the skin and stops your skin getting dehydrated.  Niacinamide also lightens pigmentation. 

Nettle Extract - Organic nettle extract has anti-inflammatory properties.  Also helps reduce oil production. 

Orange Fruit Extract - A natural form of Citric Acid, which stimulates collagen.     

Papaya Green Extract - Green Papaya is 100 times more concentrated in enzymatic action.  Papaya eats dead skin cells to provide you with a soft smooth skin.  Excellent for both dry and acne prone skins. 

Peg-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate -  An extremely mild thickener for cleansers.  Well tolerated by sensitive skins.  Not everything with PEG written on it is dangerous.  Our product that uses this gets a green tick by the Cosmetic Safety Data Base as safe.

Polyaminopropyl Biguanide - A cationic preservative which is extremely gentle on skin.  Originally used in the contact lens industry for soaking contact lenses in.  As you can imagine anything that can be placed into your eye must not sting.  Hence the reason we use this preservative in our extra sensitive skin products.

Potassium Sorbate - A preservative with a particular affinity for preventing mould and yeast growth. 

Pumpkin Seed Extract - Pumpkin seed extrct has been developed specifically to preserve the elasticity of the skin.  It helps minimise skin slackening as well as the appearance of stretchmarks, scars and wrinkles.  Pumpkin seed extract has been shown to protect the collagen in the skin from being destroyed from ultra violet light. 

Rosemary Extract - Anti-inflammatory

Rye Seed Extract - Rye seed extract is rich in mineral salts which relaxes the facial muscles and visibly smoothes expression lines.  Rye seed exract work by limiting the influx of sodium into muscle cells.  It thus inhibits the contraction of myofibrils.  Hence is has a botox like muscle relaxant effect.

Saccharomyces Ferment Lysate -  Yeast extract that increases the moisture content of the skin.  Also has a cooling effect on the skin and is useful for sunburn.

Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate Lysate - A yeast extract which effectively gives the skin the look of a face lift.  Improves moisture levels signicantly in the skin and dramatically reduces fine lines and puffiness.  It offers skin cell DNA protection and acts as an antioxidant and free radical scavenger.

Saccharomyces Zinc Ferment - Zinc is critical in wound healing and has clinical benefits with acne. 

Saw Palmetto Extract - Saw Palmetto is anti-inflammatory and helps reduce oil production. 

Sugar Maple Extract -  A natural form of Tartaric Acid.

Sodium Chloride - Buffer for cosmetics.

Sodium Citrate - Used as a stabiliser.

Sodium Hydroxymethylgycinate - A preservative which shown good preservation with minimal irritancy.

Sodium Lactate - The salt of Lactic Acid.  Sodium Lactate has potent moisturising and skin smoothing properties without irritation.  Studies have shown a 50% reduction in acne after 12 weeks use of Sodium Lactate. 

Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate -  An extremely gentle surfactant derived from coconut.  Not to be confused with SLS which is a skin irritant. 

Stearic Acid - Thickener

Sugar Cane Extract - A natural form of Glycolic Acid.  Smoothes the skin and increases cellular renewal. 

Sunflower Oil - Is high in Omega 6 and has been shown to promote skin healing and barrier recovery.

Taurine - Humectant

Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate - A fat soluble form of Vitamin C which has been shown to be superior to all other forms of Vitamin C.  Extremely stable and is able to penetrate into the skin.  This vitamin C has pigmentation lightening properties and helps prevent sunburn and DNA damage.

Titanium Dioxide - Natural Sunscreen.

Trehalose - Moisturising ingredient

Tocopheral Acetate (Vitamin E) - A natural form of Vitamin E.  Vitamin  E is an antioxidant and free radical scavenger.  It also is a potent moisturiser for dry skin.

Ultramarines - Pigment colours.

Urea - Moisturiser and skin regeneration

Yeast Amino Acids -  Moisture regulation.

Zinc Ferment - Zinc has wound healing properties

Zinc Oxide - Natural sunscreen.
